WHAT
︎︎︎ Gradski Lyubimci (Urban Pets) is a grooming salon based in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. I was brought on board to craft a complete brand identity for the salon, ensuring it captured the spirit of professionalism, warmth, and local pride.
The scope of the project included:
- Designing the logo and defining the salon’s visual identity.
- Creating merchandise designs that reinforced brand recognition.
- Developing visuals for social media campaigns to engage customers and promote services.
- Designing the store's exterior signage to attract customers and create a welcoming impression.
- Producing high-quality promotional materials in collaboration with printers.
︎︎︎ Currently, I am continuing this collaboration by working on the salon's app and website. These digital platforms aim to enhance customer experience, streamline appointment booking, and showcase the salon's offerings to a wider audience.
WHY
︎︎︎ The primary goal of this project was to create a fresh and inviting brand identity that would resonate with a diverse clientele, including pet owners of various ages and backgrounds.
Key considerations included:
1. Emotional Appeal
The branding needed to convey trust, friendliness, and professionalism to make customers feel confident about entrusting their pets to the salon.
2. Local Relevance
The dominant purple color in the branding was inspired by Veliko Tarnovo, a city known for its rich history and association with this hue. This helped root the salon’s identity in its community while giving it a unique and recognizable character.
3. Versatility
The designs had to work seamlessly across different mediums, from social media posts to physical signage and merchandise.
︎︎︎ The overarching aim was to create a cohesive visual language that would not only draw in new clients but also establish Gradski Lyubimci as a trusted and beloved local business.
HOW
I took a structured and collaborative approach to ensure the success of this project:
Research and Discovery:
︎︎︎Conducted detailed discussions with the clients to understand their vision, goals, and target audience.
︎︎︎ Researched competitors and analyzed industry trends to identify design opportunities that would set the salon apart.
Concept Development:
︎︎︎Brainstormed visual themes and created mood boards to define the tone and style of the brand.
︎︎︎ Developed multiple logo concepts, focusing on playful yet professional aesthetics that appealed to pet owners.
Design Execution:
︎︎︎ Created a vibrant logo and a comprehensive color palette anchored by the signature purple inspired by Veliko Tarnovo.
︎︎︎ Designed custom illustrations and social media visuals to build a cohesive brand presence online.
︎︎︎ Collaborated with the salon and a local printer to produce high-quality vinyl signage for the store's exterior.
Collaboration and Iteration:
︎︎︎ Worked closely with the salon owners to refine designs based on their feedback.
︎︎︎ Coordinated with the printer to ensure the materials met quality and durability standards.
Ongoing Development:
︎︎︎Currently working on the design and functionality of the salon’s app and website, focusing on user-friendly navigation, seamless booking, and engaging content presentation.
